The experience

Not everyone who loves dogs can keep one. London flats, landlords, long hours, allergies at home — the reasons vary, but the ache is the same. Pet-a-Pooch is our answer: three quarters of an hour in a room full of our gentlest daycare regulars, in a small group, with our team on hand throughout.

Good for you, good for the dogs

Time spent with friendly dogs is quietly powerful: it lowers stress, lifts mood, and research has linked it to reduced blood pressure. Forty-five minutes of cuddling well-loved dogs is a therapeutic escape hiding in plain sight on Fulham Road.

And the benefit runs both ways. For the dogs — especially the puppies — meeting a variety of new people in a calm, supervised setting is some of the best socialisation they can get: it builds confidence, reduces anxiety, and makes for happier, steadier dogs. Every dog taking part is a registered member of our daycare, joins only with their owner's consent, and is free to wander off for a rest whenever they please. Many of our owners tell us their dogs come home from Pet-a-Pooch days particularly pleased with themselves.

A wonderful gift

Few experiences are as purely enjoyable as three quarters of an hour surrounded by happy dogs — which is why Pet-a-Pooch has become a favourite for birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, visiting relatives, and colleagues in need of rescuing from a hard week. Wholesome, joyful and remembered long afterwards, it makes a wonderful gift for the dog lovers in your life.

What to expect

Sessions start on the hour and run for 45 minutes, with between four and eight visitors in each. Arrive five to ten minutes early so you're settled and comfortable before the dogs make their entrance — and if you're running late, let us know as soon as you can, as we can't extend sessions for late arrivals.

House rules

A few things we ask of every visitor, for the comfort and safety of the dogs:

  1. 1Visitors must be aged 10 or over, and anyone under 14 must be accompanied by someone aged 14 or over.
  2. 2Please leave your own dog at home for this one — sessions are for our registered daycare dogs only.
  3. 3Let the dogs keep four paws on the floor: no picking them up, however portable they look.
  4. 4No treats unless handed to you by our team — some of our dogs have allergies and sensitivities.
  5. 5If you'd like to step out during a session, ask a member of staff to open the gate rather than opening it yourself.

Thank you — the dogs appreciate it more than they can say.
